Inter-church choir in Suffolk and North Essex

A Pilgrimage of Song

Saturday 6 July 2019 - Felixstowe

A joint event with Cantus Firmus Trust and St Edmundsbury Cathedral

Our Pilgrimages of Song series in Suffolk offers a different experience this year. Instead of our usual countryside walking routes, we will follow a circular route around Felixstowe, taking in the sea front, the town, and the surrounding countryside.

Sea air, varied music and great company

The day will start with a workshop at which we learn the music repertoire for the day. There will be a variety of music styles, with a mix of unison singing and some 4-part harmony - some easy, some a little more challenging, but certainly something for everyone.

We then begin our walk, calling at several churches and singing a short service in each. The day ends with a hot meal.

Come prepared to sing or simply listen. Those who can't walk the whole route may make other arrangements for travel between churches.

What does it cost?

There are a number of costs involved in running a Pilgrimage of Song, including music printing and copyright fees. We therefore suggest a donation of £10 per person, or just £5 for anyone under 30. The meal, which is optional, is an additional £5 per person, payable in cash on the day.
