Prom Praise

Saturday 2 May, Royal Albert Hall

Cantus Firmus was preparing a 90-voice choir to form part of the Gathered Choir for this annual gala concert with the 100-strong All Souls Orchestra. The concert is now reinvented as a Virtaul Prom Praise, with several Cantus Firmus members taking part. See allsoulsmusic.org for details.

A Pilgrimage of Song

Originally 30 May (Chevington route) and 22 August (Rougham route)

Plans are well advanced for two one-day Pilgrimage of Song routes, both leading to St Edmundsbury Cathedral, as part of the Abbey 1000 celebrations to mark the millennium of the founding of the Abbey of St Edmund. Each day begins with a music workshop, followed by a walk of six or seven miles, singing a short service at churches along the way, and ending with Compline and a hot meal at the cathedral.

We hope that the Chevington route will now take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August.

The Rougham route, which forms the final leg of the Ethelbert Pilgrinage being organised by the Orwell-Deben Benefice, has been postponed to 2021.

Sing 1000

Originally Sunday 14 June, St Edmundsbury Cathedral

A vibrant journey through 1000 years of church music, from plainsong to Hillsong!

This will not take place this year, but we hope to rebrand it as Sing1001 next year.
