Saturday 7 September 2019 - Ipswich
St Michael's Church Centre, Martlesham Heath
11am - 5.30pm
Join us for an informal singing day, exploring two contrasting pieces of choral music.
Captain Noah and His Floating Zoo
Composed by the talented combination Joseph Horovitz and Michael Flanders, this fun and energtic work explores the story of Noah's Ark through jazz and folk-based music styles. A popular favourite since the 1970s, Captain Noah is sure to engage singers young and old. We will be singing the SATB choral version.
As the Hart Pants - Mendelssohn
A beautiful setting of the opening verses from Psalm 42, with sweeping melodic lines and exquisite harmonies.
The day will be divided into two singing workshops, with lunch in between (bring your own, or book a table at The Douglas Bader, opposite the church). Then at 4pm we will present an informal concert, open to all. Bring friends and family to hear what you have been up to all day!
What does it cost?
The requested donation is £14 per person. This includes hire of music for the day. SPECIAL OFFER - to encourage younger singers, we are requesting a donation of only £5 for under 30s.
